SONICSCOOP

Here’s an interview our engineer and friend Joe Pedulla did with sonicscoop about tracking Wildlife. There’s some pretty cool information in there, have a look.

this isn’t a comment about the post (sorry) but I didn’t see an email option :/
i just wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped this band get to where they are now. the lyrics in some of the songs literally saved me from pretty much self destruction… i’m not very good at putting what i feel/think into words and even if i was simple words could never truly express how grateful i really am.

that being said (before i turn too fan-girl) i was wondering if there was any possible way at all that you could toss one more city on the tour date? the first time i saw them live was in columbia sc w/ defeater and native and it was by far my favorite show. defeater is playing at the new brooklyn tavern again nov13 (2 days before my 23rd b-day) and it would be epic if la dispute could play as well, even if it is just a song or 2. i know they will probably be exhausted after traveling all over the states and they would have to fly from cali back to the east coast… but if i hadn’t of seen them play that night, i never would have picked up their CD, listened to lyrics, felt the music and more than likely wouldn’t be here today to leave this comment.

i tried to make it to the NC and GA show but i just didn’t have the money and my car wouldn’t be able to make the 5 hour trip from charleston anyways. i know it’s alot to ask for but i couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate still being here today and making it to my 23rd birthday than screaming out the words that saved me (and more than likely some of the people in the mosh with me) with the people that wrote them on a stage in front of me.

Wow, I really wish that more of the bands that I actually care about would post such in depth articles about their recording process. I had read that there was no artificial reverb in an early review of the album and was unfathomably curious as to how the engineer actually made that happen. Just in case there is any doubt, it worked absolutely amazing. I especially liked the idea of “re-amping” Jordan’s vocal track. Which song was that though? Oh and kudos on dropping the spring reverb unit. I’ve been in love with that sound ever since listening to the Portraits of Past full length for the first time.
